I’ve followed Virgil Abloh since his days on Tumblr back in 2009. From the humble beginning of Pyrex Vision to the big-time brand Off-White. There was a lot of skepticism of Virgil on my end as far as the influence of being around influential people had on how far the brand got pushed. Over time, during his tenure at Louis Vuitton, I began to change my views and embrace his massive impact on merging street fashion with high fashion. The younger generation of designers who he influenced today are especially intriguing. I love seeing individuals from my culture, some of whom may be labeled as “street” or “urban,” blazing their paths in the fashion industry and changing the overall perception of fashion as an industry. The best part of getting street style from this show was being able to snap multiple generations coming together to celebrate the legacy of Virgil Abloh.
